Cpl Chris Ings - Red Devils Reservist
Cpl Chris Ings is the latest successful member of display qualified Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team parachutists. He is a serving Cpl with B Coy, 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, operating out of White City, London.
Cpl Ings joined the Royal Marines in 2009 successfully completing the arduous training course at Lympstone CTC before joining the Fleet Protection Group. In 2012 Cpl Ings achieved the prestigious honour of being posted to the Special Forces Support Group where he spent four years, accumulating more operational experience and working closely with the 1st Battalion The Parachute Regiment.
A keen skydiver Cpl Ings had the opportunity to develop his skills on Unit Adventure Training and by the time he had decided to terminate his service with The Royal Marines he had achieved his USPA tandem rating, as well as a plethora of coaching ratings and experience with wingsuiting.
Since leaving RM Cpl Ings has joined 4 PARA and now has the opportunity to serve his Reserve Service Days with the Red Devils, travelling nationally and internationally conducting spectacular parachute descents into public events to spread the Army Reservist recruiting message.
Cpl Ings display cleared on his first attempt in March 2018 and at time of writing he is working on his progression towards flag jumping and joining the Red Devils canopy formation team.
Having had an incredibly varied career, deploying on exercises and operations around the world, Cpl Ings has now found a fresh challenge by joining the Reserves and we very much look forward to following his journey with 4 PARA, the Red Devils and his civilian skydiving exploits around the world.
