DW Stadium

Headlining an action-packed pre-match military celebration to mark Wigan Warriors’ signing of the Armed Forces covenant was always going to be a treat in the eyes of a parachute display jumper. With a Stadium Capacity of 25,133 you can already expect an incredible atmosphere! The crowd were exceptional, cheering (with a mixture of nerves and excitement) each parachute jumper as they trailed red smoke across the skies and landing safely onto the pitch.

Corporal Nathan Connolly, Team Leader of The Red Devils Free Fall Team commented, “As the Official Parachute Display Team of The British Army and The Parachute Regiment, it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to jump in to the Wigan Warriors fixture with Catalans Dragons to mark the Club’s signing of the Armed Forces Covenant. Look to the skies from 14.45 as we deliver the match ball in style!”

And that's exactly what we delivered!

Taking place on St George’s Day, the Catalans fixture featured various military displays including an abseil from the Royal Marines and an archway formed of two artillery guns curtesy of 103 Regiment Royal Artillery as the teams enter the field.

Supporters also had the opportunity to try their hand at various military challenges in the Fan Village prior to kick-off with photo opportunities available with military vehicles and hardware.
